Kathleen Sparks earned her MFA in fiction writing at the University of Mississippi. While at UM, she taught creative writing, served both as assistant director of the UM Writing Center and as managing editor of Yalobusha Review, and hosted the Broken English reading series. Her work has appeared in Stone Highway Review, Hobo Camp Review, and elsewhere.
She is an alum of the State Department's Critical Language Scholarship Program in Hikone, Japan, and has business-level proficiency in Japanese (JLPT N2 Certified).
Originally from Indiana, she now lives in Saint Louis, where she juggles writing and caring for her young daughter.
